Generalissimo Melissa Small has worked

closely with artist, Charlie Hadley, on the design for the 2011 Neewollah logo. The design depicts the spirit and youthfulness that Neewollah and Halloween bring to Independence. The theme "How Sweet It Is? also ties in with the chosen musical, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Charlie Hadley was born in Parsons, Kansas, and moved to Independence, with twin brother Doug, and parents Rob and the late Margi Hadley, when he was just a year old. Charlie?s involvement with Neewollah started at a very young age as he enjoyed all it had to offer with Doug and later his younger brother Patrick. Charlie was a Stage Escort in 1991. He graduated from

Independence High School in 1992 and attended Independence Community College. He then attended Pittsburg State University and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelors degree in Commercial Graphics. After graduation, he worked at Gear For Sports, Inc, in Lenexa, KS, as a graphic designer. In 2000, he started as a production artist at Hallmark Cards, Inc. He is currently a card designer for the Licensing Design Studio at Hallmark where he gets to work with the likes of Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Charlie Brown and a host of others. He currently resides in downtown Kansas City, MO, which is an adventure in itself. Charlie feels honored to have been commissioned to design the 2011 Neewollah logo. He loves Neewollah and always looks forward to the time when he can catch up with old friends and eat jaffles.
