| Generalissmo Melissa Small, announces 2011 Neewollah Queen’s Publicity Chair - Nellie Mendoza
Nellie Mendoza is employed by Lafarge Cement Plant in Fredonia, KS. Nellie came to Independence from the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming. She is a Northern Arapaho native and is married to Jason Mendoza. They have four children; Dominique 8, Dara 10, Diona 15 and Devin 17.
Nellie serves on the Leadership Independence & 1st Leadership boards. She is vice-president of St. Andrew’s Parent School Organization (PSO) and is an active member of St. Andrew’s Parish and Altar Society.
Nellie has been involved with various Neewollah committees and activities over the years, including a past Stage Escort Co-Chair, Program Book Co-Chair twice, Arts & Crafts Chair three times, Queen’s Scrapbook Chair twice, button chair, coronation committee, talent committee, musical backstage committee, chili cook-off committee, website committee, and candid photographer. Last but not least Nellie has served as a Ticket Queen for the past 5 years.
