Dear General Marty,
I am so excited about Teri Clark performing at Neewollah but wondered why you decided to have her give a free show. I am a really big fan of her and want to have a good place to watch her show. Does Neewollah have any plans to provide more space on the streets for the public to view her performance?
Big Fan
Dear Fan,
I am so glad that you asked that question. Neewollah is so proud to once again be able to “give back to the people” at a time when the economy needs some help by providing a free concert on the bandstand for Saturday night.
We have been working for several months to make sure that there is enough space for all to view this concert. Security and city regulations have been confirmed in advance with the help of the City of Independence. Teri Clark requires a larger stage for her performance so Neewollah rented a special one for this concert. With all these changes part of the Carnival will be moved to the 100 block of West Myrtle leaving open the 100 block of West Laurel from Penn to the alley for people to view the show. In addition, bleachers will be erected in the staging area. Please feel free to bring your own lawn chairs. . Neewollah information will be distributed from Neewollah Headquarters 204 N. Penn this year. We hope that this will provide an orderly and safe way for everyone to enjoy this fantastic concert.
Sincerely,
Marty Reichenberger
