Ask the General, October 15th, 2007

Dear General Drew,

Money is tight for my family this year but we still want to participate in Neewollah.  Are there any activities going on that won't cost as much for us this year?

On a Budget

Dear On a Budget,

I am really glad that you asked this question.  The Neewollah Board of Directors have been working for several months to find some way to "give-back" to the community in celebration of the 50th Anniversary.

The Chili Cook-off on Saturday October 20th will have lots of free activities for the whole family and several give-a-ways.  The 4th annual Chili Cook-Off and Medallion Hunt Kick-Off will be held at the Riverside Park Oval from 11 am to 2 pm.  The chili sampling will only cost your family $3.00 per person.  There will be live entertainment, give-a-ways of Neewollah merchandise, inflatables, pumpkin painting for kids, clowns and a hot dog eating contest.   One of the give-a ways that the Board has included this year, in honor of the 50th anniversary, is a drawing for carnival wristbands.   Twelve bands will be given away during the kick-off party.  Youth 18 and under can sign up for this drawing.  The first clue for the Medallion Hunt will also be given during the Chili Cook-off.
I hope you and your family can come and enjoy an inexpensive fun filled event.

Sincerely,
Drew Demo
