Neewollah has always centered around a variety of free activities on the downtown streets of Independence. The Bandstand features hometown and area talent as well as entertainers with a global origin, evenings Wednesday through Friday, then all day Saturday during Neewollah week. The stage is constructed several days before it comes to life with street acts. Bales of hay are pulled out each evening for the audience to sit on although they may bring their own folding chairs.
