 5k Fun Run/Walk
A one mile Fun Walk and a 5K TAC-Certified Fun Run. Starts in the park to kick off the first weekend of Neewollah.

 Arts & Crafts Show
The Neewollah Arts and Crafts show features spectacular pieces of work from all over the area. Exhibits come from the far reaches of Western Kansas to artists featured in our own town, and all points in between.

 Bandstand
The Bandstand is a crowd-pleasing favorite at Neewollah. The whole town gathers to eat the great food and listen to the great performances of local and not-so-local talent. The bandstand is free to anyone who likes good music and lots of fun.

 Bike Ride
The Neewollah bike ride will take riders through scenic Southeast Kansas. Each of the rides will begin and end in historic Riverside Park, at the 4-H Building across from the stadium.

 Carnival
Ottaway Amusement and the City of Independence are proud to bring you the Neewollah Carnival! Featuring the latest rides and funnest games, kids and adults alike will enjoy this attraction!

 Chili Cook-Off and Fun Day
The greatest cooks in the area come to test their mettle against one another, as three judges sample the wide variety of chili recipes. A great day of fun for the whole family.

 Food Vendors
The whole town of Independence smells wonderful when Neewollah hits. The wonderful aromas of the various great foods permeate throughout the entire town, and attract people straight to Penn Avenue. There's no better place to eat.

 Great Pumpkin Contest
The Great Pumpkin Contest is a great challenge for children and adults alike. Carve, paint, or otherwise decorate your pumpkin and submit it to see how you stacked up against the best pumpkin-carvers out there!

 Historic Tour
A historic tour through the beautiful sites of Independence, KS. You will see old, historical buildings, large homes, classic architecture, and the timeless glory that is Independence.

 Marching Band Festival
After the Grand Parade, marching bands from all over display their field performances at Kayo Emmot Field in Shulthis Stadium.

 Medallion Hunt
Follow the clues to find the medallion. But be quick or someone else will win your prize! Clues will be given out each day on this website, KIND radio, and the Independence Reporter.

 Doo Dah, Kiddie & Grand Parades
The best Parades in Kansas happen each year at Neewollah in Independence! Several parades, from the Grand Parade to the Doo Dah parade, traverse Penn Street in Independence, Kansas, sending their music and colors all over town.

 Professional Show
Talents from around the nation come to Independence, Kansas to perform at Memorial Hall. This is one of the highlights of Neewollah.

 Queen Neelah
The Queen Neelah Pageant is a pageant of beauty, pose, and grace, in which more than thirty high school Seniors from the area compete to reign over Neewollah as Queen Neelah.
