Medallion Hunt Stories

Author: Editor        Posted Date: 10/21/2008 2:07:53 PM
Each year many of us wonder all over town looking for the Medallion in hopes of winning the price.  Year after year I hear stories from the most obsessed hunters.  Here is your chance to post your Medallion Hunt story.

Just wondering if the clue writer happened to have an ephiphany as he went along writing the clues?

Maybe next year, he should remember to give as much thought/effort into the first two clues as he did for the last one publicized this year.

This year we were at the track and we saw the dumpster and we thought maybe we should go there... well we didn't and guess where it was... I LOVE medallion hunts because I love to try and figure out riddles and you get money as a plus so it's all fine I can try again next year :)

And that's my Neewollah Story

Last year (2009) when the post "The circle gets the square..." We were in the park and I was looking in the grates around the trees and when my mom said it was time to go home I asked her if we could go downtown and she said 'No its time to go home.' and not 6 hours later neewollah.com was updated and it was found downtown in the grates around the trees.

And that's my Neewollah Story.

Dear Editor,

Your editing skills and mastery of the English language leave much to be desired. Does anyone proof your spelling and grammar before you post on the internet?

In your post..."Each year many of us wonder all over town looking for the Medallion in hopes of winning the price."

I think you meant to say... Each year many of us wander (rather than wonder)... in hopes of winning the prize (rather than price).

You are setting an example in regards to our community... please do so with diligence. I am more than a little embarrassed for Southeast Kansas to be represented like this! There are many educated individuals who would agree with me. Please be more careful in the future! I highly doubt this will be posted... but if it sends a message to you and other careless bloggers... then it has been a successful attempt towards excellence.

Sincerely,

The Reading Teacher

I remember when my sister, my cousin, and I went to go look for the medallion. I dont remember what year it was. But we looked all over. But one place that was the oneway. We were going to go look in the oneway but our parents told us it was to late and getting dark so we didnt go. But we was determine to go right after school. But when we got home we was told a man found it walking along the side of the road. We were so disapointed. Knowing we were there it was right there. So that year our parents had to pay us back. So we had alot of fun at the carnival. That will be one year I will never forget.

In 2008 my Granddaughter who lives in Houston came for Neewollah and got the entire family interested in finding the medallion. Four generations (from one year to 70 years) were out there following the clues and taking turns staying with the baby or reseaching on the internet. We waded through water on the ballfields, treaded lightly along the cemetery fence, searched the trees in the park, we examined Indy turf hi and low, day and into midnight we eagerly roamed hoping our next stop would be the one and only medallion hiding spot....well maybe in 2009.
