Dear General Ann,

My teenage kids are tired of the same carnival year after year. Any chance to change the carnival?

Sincerely, Parents of Teenagers

Dear Parents,

This is a common question without an easy answer. We have been in contract with Ottaway Carnival for many years. One reason is that this is their last stop before closing down for the winter. This allows us to get a better contract. Another reason is the Neewollah Board through the years has attended other festivals to take a look and investigate other carnivals for perhaps a change. However, after serious consideration the board has decided that Ottaway is our best choice. This is based on the cleanliness of the operation, the stability of the management, and the desire to keep the carnival family oriented. The Ottaway management team has been, through the years, very aggressive in responding to the requests of Neewollah. Another factor that many Neewollah visitors do not realize is that Ottaway pays a substantial percentage of its carnival proceeds to the Neewollah organization. This allows Neewollah to do some of the special things that are non-revenue producing. So, as I said initially, the carnival selection is complicated but we hope to uphold our pledge to keep Neewollah a family experience.
