Neewollah Board Modifies Neewollah 2020

Neewollah 2020 Generalissimo, Janet Demo, and the Neewollah Board of Directors announce a significant change to the 2020 Neewollah festival. Due to the evolving Covid-19 health crisis, the Neewollah Board has reached the difficult decision to cancel all Neewollah events with the exception of the Queen Neelah LXXIX pageant and the Medallion Hunt. Current plans for this year do include a scaled-back Neewollah Headquarters storefront where festival-goers will find yearly buttons, program books, clothing and some standard Neewollah merchandise.

Queen Directors have a detailed plan in place to proceed with the Queen Neelah pageant designed to maximize participant safety. More information on the Queen Neelah pageant and the Neewollah Medallion Hunt will be revealed in the coming weeks. Watch for other announcements online and in area news outlets, as alternative events may be added if they can be done so safely.

The impact of this scaled-back Neewollah festival will be felt by our community, our volunteers and our businesses. It was the Board’s hope that a full Neewollah celebration could proceed as it has in previous years; however, we can’t in good conscience proceed with all activities and risk the safety of our participants, festival-goers, entertainers, vendors, volunteers and sponsors.

Please check our website at www.neewollah.com and the Neewollah Facebook page for updates on Neewollah 2020: Teamwork Makes the Dream work.

We are all in this together.
