One of the big attractions of the annual Neewollah Celebration is the Kiddie Parade. The parade was organized in 1958 for the enjoyment of the children of Independence and surrounding areas. This event has grown to over 1,000 children participating. In recent years, as many as 14 Middle School bands from all over Kansas have marched in the Kiddie Parade, and floats have grown to over 30 strong thanks to the participation of numerous families and organization.
Categories for the parade line-up will include:
- Toddlers & Parents
- Grades PreK-2

- Grades 3-5
- Middle School
- Wheels ( No Motorized Vehicles)
- Pets
The Kiddie Parade starts in front of Memorial Hall and disbands in front of the Methodist Church.
